Unexpected announcements at Paris Fashion Week have already ceased to be something unusual. This season's opening was the performance H&M your new designer collaborator at a party at the legendary Silencio nightclub : Rabanne.

Over the past two decades, H&M has collaborated with dozens of international brands – from Stella McCartney before Marni . H&M предлагает брендам полновесную твор-ческую работу, позволяющую дизай-нерам создавать новые форматы и выходить за рамки обыденного.

Spanish designer Paco Raban gained fame in the 1960s when his metal creations began to dominate dance floors around the world. He is also famous for using unusual materials such as chain mail, paper and plastic. In 1999, designer Julian Dossena took over the duties of the brand designer and today he remains the creative director of Rabanne. Ten years later, his collections remain true to the retro-futuristic aesthetic of the founder, with his chainmail dresses and kaleidoscopic prints.

A New era

The new collection uses elements created from mesh fabric, mirror sequins and rhinestones. The line includes various variations of classic disco dresses and other models, ideal for evening events. The collection includes things with sequins in gold, silver and purple colors, home suits embroidered with rhinestones, tuxedo jumpsuits and jackets in the style of “military” with gold embroidery. Additionally, there are also items with shiny geometric prints with fiery patterns in jacquard style, which conveys the spirit of the 70s.

«I always say that we have a list of dream brands and designers that we would like to work with at H&M. Rabanne has been on the list for a long time. Of course, the brand has a cult status in the fashion industry. Founder Paco Rabanne was a master of working with metal and created many instantly recognizable and completely unique designs. For more than 10 years, Julian Dossena has been leaving his mark on Rabanne in a very subtle and clever way. We were very impressed with how he breathed new life into the brand, making it very modern and promising. We felt that Rabanne is the perfect brand for a collection that will "stop the world" for a moment, and this is always our goal in collaboration with designers» – said the head of the women's clothing design department of H&M Ann-Sophie Johansson in an interview with Hypebeast.

In the home decor department, the choice turned out to be very wide: the design of mid-century furniture by Paco Rabanne includes a variety of items: from shiny cocktail tables and chain curtains to carpets, pillows, scented candles, playing cards and dice. To date, this is the most extensive design collection H&M Home , consisting of 31 copies.

H&M has released a large lookbook, which gives us the opportunity to take breaks to prepare for the wedding before the collection takes effect on November 9.
